Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she won the Emmy Award. She is best known for her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney is the daughter of an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. Though she had a aspiration to become journalist, it was not until the time of her high school days when Delaney started modeling. Following her move from New York City and gaining experience with commercials at New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. In 1981, she starred as an innocent teen in All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years from the 1980s has appeared in a variety of TV films and dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional has not had a happy and successful. She has also experienced two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcoholism. She was divorced in 2005 and lost custody of the sole child she was born with.
